1988 BMW 750iL

I HAVE THIS THING FOR V12S, AND I HAVE IT BAD.  I THOUGHT ABOUT TRYING TO PART OUT AN UGLY FOUR DOOR MID 70'S FERRARI TO LEAVE ME WITH AN ITALIAN V12, THE QUINTESSENTIAL V12.  I CONSIDERED THIS FOR A GOOD PART OF A YEAR, THEN I WAS AT THE AUTO SHOW AND DECIDED THAT A GERMAN V12 MAY BE A VERY ECONOMICAL WAY TO GET MY V12.  SOON AFTER I FOUND THIS ON EBAY FOR $900.  IT NEEDED A DIFF, A FRONT FENDER, AND A HOOD.  THESE CARS ARE TOO RISKY TO RUN, THOUGH I CONTEMPLATED IT.  THEY CALL IT THE MIR SPACE STATION ON WHEELS.  IT WAS STUFFED WITH ELECTRONICS, HAD POWER REAR HEAD RESTS, AND THREE COMPUTERS TO RUN THE ENGINE.

I GOT IT RUNNING, AND PULLED THE ENGINE OUT, THEN PARTED IT OUT AND GOT ALL MY MONEY BACK.  TO RUN IT WITH STAND ALONE FUEL INJECTION, I WOULD HAVE HAD TO ADAPT HEI DISTRIBUTORS TO THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE, WHICH IS POSSIBLE, BUT A LOT OF WORK.  I PARTED THE CAR OUT AND RECOUPED MY MONEY AND STILL HAD THE ENGINE.

THE INTAKE MANIFOLDS LOOKED INCREDIBLE WITH WRINKLE BLACK POWDER COAT AND MACHINED LETTERS, BUT I ULTIMATELY DECIDED THAT IT WOULD BE TOO MUCH WORK TO GET IT TO RUN ON IT'S OWN AND TO ADAPT A TRANSMISSION.  I SOLD IT TO A GUY IN TEXAS, AND MOVED ON TO A JAGUAR V12 WITH A VACUUM ADVANCE DISTRIBUTOR SO THAT I CAN RUN MEGASQUIRT EFI WITH FUEL ONLY.
